Flowers have been a significant element in mankind's existence since the dawn of history.
The painting of flowers truly took off in the 17th century.
"Flower paintings generally symbolized the romantic notion that the delights of this world are transitory and perishable. "
But flowers have also symbolised 'life'. The life of an individual, the life of a community ... the life of a country.
It is with that in mind that we celebrate the anniversary of Israel's establishment with an exhibition of flowers by noted Israeli Painters.
